Nanyang 30th Anniversary!!!

YEA!!! Yesterday was Nanyang's 30th Birthday!!! Happy Birthday Nanyang! In lieu with the celebrations, the school had decided to make this an informal event, where students need not be wearing blazers or long sleeves, instead we will be wearing a T-shirt. It is also made such as it looks like a carnival, with many game stations, such as the Gladiator Challenge, Penalty Shootout, etc and mani food stalls too!!!

For Council, our duties are to be the tour guides to the VIPs coming to the school! Sobz.... although I am attached to 2 of the VIPs, but they did not turn up for the event...

We then proceed to the Hall for dinner, the food in the hall was realli GRAND!!! With chocolate steamboat, beef pie and mani other colourful looking cakes!!!

It was certainly a super filled day, despite the tiredness ...

Table Tennis Finals

Went down to support the Table Tennis Finals on friday! I went there slightly late as I had my bio pratical before and was trapped in the rain before I can reach Toa Payoh Sports Hall... When I stepped in, the atmosphere was tense and grand. People from our school as well as other schools like RJC, HCI and RGS are there cheering for their teams as well.

It was realli an intense battle for Nanyang, as we viewed this match as realli important as for the past years, we had not been in the finals! Yet, this time we were in, so our team realli did put up a good fight. Nevertheless, our team lost.

Don't be disheartened NY Table Tennis Team! Jia You!

Chinese Orchestra Performance

Chinese Orchestra had their performance during common lunch break last thursday... Ahhh i missed it as I had to go to the Hall for a briefing to teach cheers to the students going to support the table tennis finals. Haha luckily Meng Jiat helped me to take some photos! Thx! Haha... As our econs teacher is sick today and our maths remedial is cancelled.... our break last for 3hrs and 30mins and then we haf to go for assembly! It's like so fun, just like the time table for 1st 3 month. Haha gt lots of free time!!! Realli enjoyed it cos it's realli a long time where we can go together as a class and do homework together! Usually is that we only haf time to eat or maybe sme time left to do a little touch up on our work and we gotta go for lessons already! So today it's quite refreshing for this to happen!!! :D Thanks Yan See and Qin Lei for pei-ing for do hwk! Haha

Hmmm however mani of my frens are nt in school todae... Chanel went for SYF and Meng Jiat was sick...

Hope to see them in school realli soon!!!

30th Anniversary Rehearsal

Yesterday, the Council haf a bonding event to bond the 29th and the 30th Student Council together! It was after their presidency elections, which was veri tense as they are supposed to choose candidates that are suitable to be the president.

It was veri fun as we get to play the Pass the Paper game, which allow each of us to tell the other what they have been doing well and the areas that can be improved. I think we all learn a lot from this game. Then it was our free time before the actual 30th Anniversary Rehearsal, it was like a Sports Carnival as the councillors and the elects chose the sports they want to play and we all played together! It was fun as this was the first time the 29th and the 30th bond together in games. We played sports like Basketball, Soccer, Badminton, Tennis, etc.

After that we all went for the 30th Anniversary Rehearsal...


Guzheng Performance

As our school Guzheng's Ensemble are performing in this year's SYF, they decided to perform during common lunch break on Thursday as a form of on-stage experience!!! Haha Jia You Guzheng Ensemble!!! Jia You Chanel (Neemog) !!! :D

Table Tennis Match

This week was so filled with tests, that practically only last thursday don't haf any tests. Haha too busy studying that I do not have anytime to blog. So now wil take some time to blog on the happenings on last week...

Went to Chung Cheng High (Main) to watch Nanyang Table Tennis match. They are trying to qualify for the semi-finals, which was veri exciting as it is considered to be a medal's round, if we won, we will be assured a medal at least.

In the end, after a tough fight put up by Nanyang's Table Tennis Team, we won HCI 3-1, which was veri impressive as we lost to them in the earlier rounds 5-0. Applaud to our table tennis team and congratz for entering as the top 3.

Ohhh Chung Cheng High was a veri unique school!!! *After heavy publicising by Meng Jiat and Chanel* LOL Haha it has a veri strong China feeling, especially the Admin block, its like Ancient China's City Gate. But i didnt managed to view the Legendary Lake as mentioned by Meng Jiat...

Hmm ytd was my parents' wedding anniversary so they suggested that we wil be eating out! We decided to go Pariss, the seafood buffet!!! It was like my mum's dream to go there cos they offer a wide range of food, from Western, Japanese, Chinese, lots of Seafood, Barbeque, etc but it was veri expensive!! Around $40+ per person... So it's like my dad will try to push bac and say we will go nxt time! Haha this time we went!

Wow it was super high class! It realli offers lots of good food!!! Hmm start off my meal by eating clams, ranging from osyters, clams to mussels. Then ate sashimi, went on with Japanese sashimis, tasted like 6 kinds of fish, then ate sushi, moving on to the main course, LOL fish again, ate codfish cake and grilled salmon!!! I began to tel my parents then the fishes are so goin to kill me alr! Then they began laughin...

Haha overall enjoyed it veri much!!! Thx Mum and Dad!!!!! :D Tasted food i nvr tasted or rarely tasted before like abalone, osyters, goose liver, lots of sashimi and mani types of Japanese desserts!!!

Hmmm juz heard from Meng Jiat that Im the only one who passed Bio blocktest in the class!!! Yup was like so SUPER HAPPY!!! But gotta admit this time is by luck lah, cos I scored higher in the MCQ paper. Hmmm will study HARD to do Biology proud, next time shall pass again but it wun be because of luck! :D Yes... ...

Haiz but the bad news falls on the same day too!!! Sobz... Got back my A Level Project Work results and got a C. Haiz... Realli bad ar!!! Realli did put in lots of efforts in it one then come out the results still that bad. Realli gotta buck up for A Levels le! What a competitive world... ... :(


A Levels = MY Birthday!?!

While my class was checking the Entry Proof of our A level, I found out that my birthday was the day I need to take my Bio Paper 1! Was like shock... Ahhhh bio... So scared lah. Hmm bt tinkin abt it the other way, haha this yr can haf ppl celebrate my birthday le!!! YEA!!! haha rarely gt the chance cos usually my bdae is already on the holidays alr so ppl will celebrate way b4 the holiday! Wahaha this year my classmates and frens haf no way to run le :X *Evil Laughter* Yup like wad Chanel said, since it is also the last day of A levels, can celebrate double event ya? Right, my frens :P Hahaha


Council Camp

Phew.... Council Camp had ended wif a big BANG!!!

Before the start of the camp, Ms Chiew made us recalled the long way we haf gone that mould us to what we are today! She played the song 'The Extra Mile', which was the song we haf chosen as a council for our investiture. It realli bring back old memories as fragments of what i haf gone thru playback in my mind... Indeed, we came a long way.... From 40 individuals, to now 1 council. We did suffered from lots of setbacks but we did persevere and achieved what we have achieved today. Of cos, we all felt sad as our council term is ending real soon... But we converted this sadness to strength that motivates us to make the camp a success!!!

Day 1:
Met my group for the first time, they were realli good!!! All were potential leaders as they gave lotsa suggestions during the games. They were all veri rubber-like too as they are realli malleable!!! For games like crossing the river, they are able to stretch from point to point that are realli wide apart! It realli shocked me!!! They complete these games easily and quickly. Had facilitation with my members for the first time during supper and got to know more about them through the facilitation. Yea I love being a facil, to be able to see them grow each day and to advice them and stress the learning points of the camp activities to help in their learning is realli a heart-warming experience for me! It was new for me too as I had never haf this kind of experience before and it gives me the chance to talk to people who I do not know initially.

Day2:
As I'm involved in the Night Walk, I slept for barely 2 hours. Therefore the second day I felt realli tired but i told myself I haf to endure and put in my best as this is the last council event already and I dun wnt to leave any regrets later on! As I'm one of the campfire IC, im involved in the setting up of campfire. It was a pity as in the midst of setting up the campfire, it rained heavily and we had to initiate the wet weather programme. We felt realli sad as our efforts were to waste, including the effort of us getting the logistics needed, soaking the firewood, thinking of how to set up the pit, etc. But the good tink was althought the campfire was held in the atrium wif lighted tealight candles, it was successful as the programme is quite interesting and we get to see mani of our seniors from the 27th and the 28th!

Day 3:
Seeing all my group members realli tired out after a long night of activities, I did some encouraging, gave them some advices and also let them complain, haha so that they dun bottle tinks up. After break camp, the councillors were to Serangoon's Mac to haf their lunch. We were all happi as after 3 days of camp food, we can finally eat fried food!!! Yea!!! :D We were joking about each other and realli laughing our heads off.

As we all were tired, we soon decided to head home to haf our long-waited for hot bath and a good sleep...


AJ Harmonica Concert 2007 Musique Des Saisons (Celebrations)

After the concert, my friends Yu Ling and Jia Hui, together wif their classmates, their classmates' friends and I went to Ang Mo Kio to have supper together!

As I forgot about Yu Ling's birthday, I felt veri guilty and promised her that I will give her a SUPER ULTRA ULTIMATE Present for her birthday and yup I did keep to my promise (although the box is big, but it's half empty :P). Sorry Yu Ling!

For supper, we ate beancurd!!! It was veri interesting as the stall sold a wide range of beancurd in different colours!!! For example, there are egg beancure, strawberry beancurd, chocolate beancurd and almond beancurd!!! They all seem so nice haha and super attractive!!! First time see pink beancurd!!!

Yup we catch up on each other happenings in school... It was realli great to see them and talk to them again. As we were veri tired, for them is because they juz finished their performance and for me, is due to my long day in school, we had no choice but to part at eleven plus. Haha went home wif Jia Hui and her fren, not wasting our time on the train, we talked and joked too!!! It was realli fun talkin to them as we were all laming together!!! So FUN! :D

AJ Harmonica Concert 2007 Musique Des Saisons

Went to AJ on last thursday to watch AJ's Hamonica and Guitar Concert - Musique des Seisons and of cos to support my SUPER GOOD frenz Yuling and Jia Hui! Hmm from the name of the concert, probably u al can infer that it is linking music wif the four seasons!!! Haha I like the idea veri much!!! I tink they are SUPER creative, just as last year. Each time I go for the concert gives me a different experience! What was creative last year was that they used the visualizer to flash pictures relating to the song, it was juz like narrating the song out, so it realli pleased the senses of both sight and hearing. This year, they divide the concert into 4 sections, namely summer, autumn, winter and spring and in each section of the performance, they changed the stage layout, such as in the winter, they placed a christmas tree and in spring, they put a vase and lion dance's lions on the stage.

They not only perform as a whole band, they are performances of solo, duet, trio, quartet, ... which give different experiences.

Some of the more well-known pieces they played are Over the Rainbow, Chun Feng Wen Shang Wo De Lian and Music of the Night (from the Phanton of the Opera). The highlights of the performances are probably the song 'Butterfly Love', played personally by the conductor himself, who is a very experienced harmo player and his pianist. It was realli veri touching and it's like the harmo is part of himself! The concert ended wif a bang wif a combined performance by the Guitar Ensemble and the Harmonica band playing Mayday's 知足.

After the performance, I went down to talk to my frens who were performing and of cos took some pictures as well!
